About SEQ Natives

Growing local biodiversity

SEQ Natives is a small native plant nursery based in Worongary on the Gold Coast, created to help more people discover, grow and appreciate the plants that belong in South East Queensland.

Locally native vegetation growing in South East Queensland

How SEQ Natives began

Our journey started on a neglected acreage property in Worongary.

We set out to restore the land by removing invasive weeds and making space for native plants.

As the bush began to recover, we were amazed by the native species already regenerating.

That inspired us to start growing our own plants and learning about their life cycles.

SEQ Natives grew from that experience—and a desire to make it easier for others to do the same.

Heath working to restore native bushland

Hi, I’m Heath

I’m a native plant enthusiast, backyard grower and the person behind SEQ Natives.

I love exploring local bushland, learning plant identification and finding ways to restore biodiversity at home.

There’s always more to learn—and that’s what keeps me excited about this journey.

Make a little more room for nature

You don’t need acreage or a complete garden redesign to make a difference.

Start with the space you have and let it grow from there.
